The research was conducted with students of Business Administration and Public Accounting and Auditing at the University of the Autonomous Regions of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast (URACCAN), Rosita Campus. The purpose was to evaluate the practices of both careers, to describe the strengths and weaknesses in order to propose actions to strengthen the students' skills for their work performance. The research is qualitative and the level of depth is descriptive and framed in the phenomenological paradigm. The techniques applied were: individual interviews, focus groups, observation and documentary review. The main strength of the professional practices is to have regulations that govern the process of the same, the weaknesses are framed in the lack of application of the established rules, supervision, evaluation, guidance and the signing of agreements. The contributions evidenced in the process of the internship highlight the incorporation to the working world, the professional experience and interpersonal relationships, at the same time it is shown that not everything is positive when not complying with what is established, such is the case of the assignment of activities that are not of the professional profile and therefore the impact of the internship is not achieved.
