Abstract

In the university model of the 21st century, independent work acquires great importance for the academic performance of students, a detailed study of the specialized pedagogical literature shows the relevance of reflecting on the characteristics and specific requirements for each educational level and study modalities of Higher Education. One of the modalities where independent work has been developed most frequently is blended learning, which traditionally takes the form of Courses for Workers (CPT for its acronyms in Spanish). It is a qualitative study of the Participatory Action Research, motivated by the need for constant updating of their knowledge about the management of independent work from the professional improvement. On the basis of the deficiencies and potentialities found, a system of methodological teaching workshops is proposed that conceives independent work as a management process, proposing its implementation particularly within the class meetings or sessions. The present research responds to this need with the objective of designing a system of methodological teaching workshops that contribute to the methodological preparation of the first-year teachers at Alberto Fernández Meneses Municipal University Center for the direction of independent work in the Primary Education graduate training, semi-attendance study modality.
