Abstract

Bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum is one of the most devastating diseases affecting crops such as eggplant, potato, tomato and tobacco. The study was carried out in the greenhouse of the Department of Agricultural and Forest Protection of the National Agrarian University (UNA) between April and July 2020 with the aim of evaluating the tolerance of eggplant cultivars (Solanum melongena L.) to bacterial wilt caused by by Ralstonia solanacearum under greenhouse conditions. It was established in a complete randomized design (DCA), unifactorial, with four treatments and 20 repetitions, a total of 80 plants were sampled in each experimental unit. The variables of incidence, severity and progress of the disease showed significant differences, with cultivars EG-195 and Morada Larga being the most affected by the bacteria, compared to cultivars Belleza Negra and EG-203.
