Abstract

This work has analyzed the importance of the own knowing systems and intercultural collaboration for the generation of knowledge in the different processes that take place in URACCAN Intercultural Community University with and for indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples. These different modes of knowledge production are associated with different worldviews, which according to the cases are typical of the so-called modern western societies or of the respective indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples. The methodology is qualitative and its level of depth is critical analytical when interpreting vital texts of intercultural relevance. The dialogues and forms of collaboration that take place must be honest and respectful, of mutual interest, based on recognizing that there is diversity of contexts and practices and that the construction of spaces for the articulation of knowledge must be carried out on the basis of inclusion and interculturality.
