We are pleased to present this monograph on the political economy of communication in the Latin American Journal of Peace and Conflict Studies (ReLaPaC). It contains original papers derived from some of the works presented at the XII ULEPICC Conference in Mexico City, with contributions on informational work and cultural industry, public policies and community communication, media concentration, or audiovisual digitization. In its pages you will find research projects, advances of results, theoretical analysis and empirical research of interest to understand some of the realities of communication in Latin America from the perspective of political economy. We trust that they will inspire and serve to continue advancing in the necessary task of critical and transformative research on communication and culture.
