Abstract

At present, nuclear energy has gained great importance worldwide within the diversification portfolio in power generation in various countries, in order to achieve greater energy independence. However, nuclear energy at present is considered a strategic asset that covers a very wide spectrum of possibilities, which in Mexico has a promising potential for its use for purposes other than electricity generation; for this purpose, the review of the operation and administration of the current nuclear power system should be considered, in order to make a balance-diagnosis of the challenges, problems, expectations, and cash flows associated with nuclear technology.
