Globalization has generated a competitive environment in Higher Education, which has led educational institutions to adopt strategies based on organizational theory to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. In this context, funding sources are critical to the success of these strategies, as they allow institutions to invest in infrastructure, research and academic program development. Therefore, this paper attempts to share a brief analysis of the importance of globalization, organizational theory and funding sources and how they are closely related in Higher Education, seeking that their correct understanding and proper management be seen as crucial elements for the achievement of quality and internationally competitive education.
