Abstract

The work is aimed to reveal as "the coffee vocation", from the highlands of the Department of Santa Ana, specifically the municipalities of Coatepeque, and part of what is now the municipality of El Congo 1933; hat was split from the first one, was where the agricultural frontier of Santa Ana  was extended, but, it wants to show part of a clientelist policy that forged and maintained the era of General Maximiliano Hernández Martínez (1931-1944), and contributed to the emergence of the municipality of El Congo in 1933.
