Abstract

Freedom of speech is one of the fundamental pillars of democracy in contemporary society. This right does not relate exclusively to the right of the media to inform but that also has to do with the right of every citizen to seek and receive information, including public information, as is guaranteed by the national and international standards and as it has been stipulated in its time by the different national and international organizations.

The present article aims to analyze the right to public information access in Nicaragua. Its development is the product of the State of Law Manual, funded by the Department of State of the United States of America.
