Learning a foreign language can be a complex and frustrating experience for those who start this learning process. In this sense, some language acquisition theories, such as Stephen Krashen’s comprehensible input, provide insight into how we acquire a second/foreign language. Therefore, this present essay intends to present a discussion of the value of listening activities in the teaching of the English language, under Krashen’s learning theory. The main objective is to analyze and reflect on the value of listening activities implemented by the English teacher focused on listening comprehension, with the purpose of improving the language skills of students in the classroom.
