Climate change is affecting every country on every
continent. It is disrupting national economies and
affecting different lives. Weather systems are changing,
sea levels are rising, and weather events are becoming
more extreme. It is one of the deepest survival crises
that humanity is experiencing, along with poverty,
inequality and COVID-19. The planet faces a problem
that is not only environmental, but planetary.
This scientific article entitled: A retrospective analysis
of climate change in Nicaragua 1950-2023, is part of
the Environment and Climate Change course, as part

Development Studies of the Casa de la Soberanía

objective is to analyze climate change in Nicaragua
from the 1950s to the present.

records were used based on different sources on the
subject in question, compiled within the heuristic
search for the sake of enrichment and construction of
a critical-reflexive analysis. It is meritorious to deepen,

environmental awareness of care and love for mother
earth, the environment and the mitigation of climate
change at the country level.
