The business situation in El Salvador has faced a series of challenges after COVID-19 pandemics, in addition to a context of economic crisis and generalized inflation that has led to the search for answers and alternatives for the sustainability of the business sector. The purpose of this article is to compile information on the situation of Salvadoran companies in the first half of 2023, identify critical areas and opportunities, as well as, the recommendations identified from the sector analysis. The methodology used is based on a quantitative study through surveys of micro, small, medium and large companies located in different municipalities of the national territory. Among the main results of the study is that the highest percentage of companies is concentrated in micro-enterprises, that inflation is a relevant factor that has strongly affected their economic situation, in addition to the need to obtain financing for the development of their operations, the importance of electronic commerce and the improvement in perceived security with the implementation of the exception regime. Among the main conclusions found is the need for government support in business training, financing and seed capital, as well as providing resources to enable them to enter digital markets and promote e-commerce.
