Abstract

Introduction: Risk management constitutes a set of procedures designed to improve the performance of the organization, as a policy of prevention and protection of the health of employees and users, considering that it is a component of the organizational climate that, together with work attitudes, seeks the sustainable development of the organization. The objective of this work is to systematically explain the scientific evidence on risk management to contribute to safety in public buildings, with the purpose of preserving the physical and emotional integrity of the user and the quality of the organization’s service. Methods: The main databases were searched for the terms safety, strategic management, buildings, security and innovation, discarding articles published before 2018. Development: In the present study, a systematic review of the literature on the methods used in risk management, safety and public buildings, both qualitative and quantitative, was developed. Conclusion: Risk management facilitates socialization and provides the opportunity for all stakeholders to participate in risk prevention actions, safety innovation, as a culture to achieve strategic objectives and mitigate events that may negatively impact the organization.
