Report of the IV University Congress of Scientific Research of the University of El Salvador.

The IV University Congress on Scientific Research was held on October 26, 27 and 28, 2021. The methodology for its development was non-presential, given the restrictions due to COVID-19. The sessions were transmitted simultaneously via Facebook and Youtube for a total of 6 blocks. A total of 95 papers were received, of which 87 were presented. Of the papers presented, 9 corresponded to Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, 11 to Medical and Health Sciences, 23 to Natural Sciences, 23 to Social Sciences, 8 to Arts and Humanities and finally 13 to Engineering and Technology.
In addition to the lectures, there were 4 keynote lectures that were presented during the development of the different sessions in the following order: 1) Contributions of the Ibero-American Environmental Network (REIMA, A.C.) to Environmental Education in Latin America and the Caribbean, by Dr. Yordanis Puerta de Armas, referent of REIMA, A.C.; 2) Contributions of the National Herbarium of El Salvador (MHES) in the identification of plants with oxidizing properties by Jenny Menívar, from the Museum of Natural History of El Salvador; 3) Research and Teaching. Methodological and social aspects by Dr. Raúl Rojas Soriano from the Universidad Autónoma de México and 4) Scientific production in times of pandemic. The role of science by Dr. Xochitl Sandoval from the Instituto Nacoional de Salud. The abstracts of the first two keynote lectures are included in this report.
The IV Congress was supported by the Red Iberoamericana de Medio Ambiente (REIMA A.C.), the Museo de Historia Natural De El Salvador (MUHNES), the Instituto Nacional de Salud (INS), the Consejo Superior Universitario Centroamericano (CSUCA), the Fondo de Inversión Ambiental De El Salvador (FIAES) and the Organismo Internacional Regional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (OIRSA).
