Three species of Xylariales (macrofungi) that constitute new records for El Salvador are described and illustrated, all of them belonging to the Xylariaceae family: Podosordaria Mexicana Ellis & Holw., which was found growing on equine manure in grazing areas and Quercus spp forest; and Xylaria aristate Mont., and Xylaria sicula Pass. & Beltrani, which were observed growing on the blades and petioles of fallen and decomposing leaves of Ternstroemia tepezapote, in gallery forest. The analyzed and described material was collected on La Palma hill, Chalatenango, El Salvador, during the months of July, August, and September of two thousand and twenty-two. The description of the species was made based on morphological and anatomical criteria. The herbalized and duly identified samples will be deposited in the ITIC Herbarium of the Escuela de Biología, Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Matemática, Universidad de El Salvador. The main purpose is to contribute to the knowledge of this group of fungi for the country and establish the bases for future research in this taxon and in others of the Fungi kingdom.
