This paper addresses the improvement of Energy Performance Indicators (EnPI) in municipal buildings in El Salvador. It describes the comparison between current EnPIs and projected ones, analyzing energy consumption and emissions in relation to building area and personnel. Average figures and graphs illustrating the evolution of annual EnPIs of energy consumed per area and per person in different municipalities are presented. Additionally, proposed measures to reduce energy consumption and improve energy management in municipal buildings are highlighted, focusing on updating lighting systems, optimizing equipment, smart energy management, and thermal insulation. These actions are based on internationally recognized standards such as ISO 50000, ensuring alignment with effective practices to promote energy efficiency and reduction carbon emission.
