The research focuses on analyzing the needs for artistic and cultural expressions for children in the northern region of the La Unión department, specifically in the municipalities of Santa Rosa de Lima, Nueva Esparta, Lislique, Anamorós, Bolívar, San José, Concepción de Oriente, Polorós, and El Sauce. The objective is to understand the artistic reality and propose specific interventions for the holistic development of children. The central question addresses how participation in artistic and cultural expressions contributes to the cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and youth. The research is justified by the aim to improve the living conditions of childhood, including vulnerable groups such as children in foster care, considered as those who do not live with their biological parents and/or those with physical disabilities. The hypothesis suggests a significant gap in the knowledge of the artistic and cultural realities of the child population in the study area. The methodology is descriptive, focusing on interviews with representatives of municipalities, culturalcenters, and school and institute directors in eight municipalities. The article emphasizes the importance of artistic expression in child development and proposes recommendations such as establishing permanent programs, training specialized teachers, and organizing cultural events to promote the artistic talent of children.
