Abstract

This essay aims to explore the expected growth of graduate programs according to the Strategic Development Plan for Higher Education in Honduras 2014-2023. First, I explain the topics and the strategic aims of the Plan. Then, I describe the objectives and actions that deal specifically with master and PhD programs. Next, I acknowledge that there has been progress of these programs to 2016, both in terms of quantity and regulations concerning those academic degrees. The essay ends with a statement on the importance of the training of professors to implement the Strategic Development Plan and with suggestions on this matter.
