Abstract

The odontogram or dental chart is the graphic representation of the human dentition. It allows the dentist in a clear and simple way to schematize the patient's dental status and to make recognitions of living or dead people, using the different dental characteristics of the individual. In the context of identification it provides valuable information, especially when comparing dental records antemortem and postmortem. Currently in Honduras, a project was started to raise antemortem dental records in prisoners, which has been very well accepted not only among the prison population, but also among the authorities of the centers, so far two have been sampled Penitentiary centers, in addition to the odontological data samples were taken for DNA and it is hoped that it not only contributes to fine-tuning the processes of identification, but also to improving the oral health of the prisoners.
