Artificial intelligence (AI) has consolidated itself as an indispensable tool in today’s world. Resisting its implementation is an unsustainable stance. Nevertheless, its widespread adoption faces significant challenges, mainly due to the lack of validation by relevant actors such as governments, private companies, and especially citizens. This situation not only slows down its use but also generates stigmas in the processes where it is applied. To achieve global acceptance, artificial intelligence must be integrated with ethics as a necessary requirement for all its applications. Defining ethics is complex, but it can be understood through principles that do not constitute a closed list. The individualization of these principles helps provide validation to AI, as its use presents relevant issues such as the black box, deepfakes, and the violation of data security. These situations demand the development of regulations that ensure its proper application. Although current norms, guidelines, and recommendations are the only tools available, they rely on principles as guides to validate the correct use of artificial intelligence.
