The devastated forest of Bluefields

Abstract

In this issue of Wani we include a report that, with the precision of scientific language, brings us up to date on the latest evaluation made on the effects of Hurricane Joan on the forests of the South Atlantic Autonomous Region (RAAS). As will be recalled, on October 23, 1988, this incident impacted Bluefields and 300,000 hectares of the typical vegetation of our Caribbean, the so-called tropical rainforest.
