Adolescence and youth in the Nicaraguan Caribbean

Nicaragua is experiencing a slowdown in population growth rates as a combined product of the reduction in birth rates and the persistence of high emigration rates that have maintained the negative migratory balance, in addition to the reduction in mortality that initiated in 1995 a phase of demographic transition, characterized by a progressive increase in the segment of the population of working age (15-64 years), on which both the productive and reproductive areas of society depend.
