Abstract

José Pantaleón Guido is one of the unknown indigenous leaders in the indigenous insurrection of 1881, who recorded his words and thoughts in documents that have to do with the procedures for the certification of the remeasurement of the lands of the Indians of the partialities of Matagalpa, Solingalpa, Molaguina and Laborío. His work covers twenty-three years of intense political activity, between 1888 and 1904, as secretary to the four indigenous mayors of these parishes.
