Nicaragua's historical development has generated, as in the rest of the world, a complex network of social relations, a certain development of the productive forces and a series of political events that today define its identity. However, within this identity, the historical process itself, together with certain geographic and demographic characteristics, show us the existence of important regional peculiarities with their own identity traits.
