Inheritance of capitalist production on the Atlantic Coast
Keywords:
Atlantic Coast, Capitalism, Economic model, Economic system, International lawAbstract
Since the revolutionary triumph, several works have been published dealing with the exploitation of natural and human resources of the Nicaraguan Atlantic Coast by North American companies. These works have generally emphasized the rupture between the old system and the revolutionary model of development. This paper takes a different perspective. It attempts to argue that the capitalist economic activity of the 100 years prior to the revolutionary triumph left a legacy that still affects us in terms of ecology, economics and social relations of production, and that the revolution needs to continue to overcome.
