Abstract

This effort by a group of social scientists, mostly from the Federal Republic of Germany, is surprising. They offer us in a condensed volume, beautifully presented by the Editorial Junius of that country, deep experiences and news about our Caribbean Coast. Useful experiences and news especially for those of us who have lived with our backs turned to the other half of Nicaragua. The book transports us to the nebulous and complicated historical, social and cultural fabric of the so-called Nicaraguan Mosquitia, as if it were a dazzling journey through the also intertwined and dense aquatic network that flows into an ever-changing and powerful nature that has erased the traces of human tenacity and perseverance for centuries.
