Abstract

FADCANIC and USAID´s Education for Success Program (EFS) has emerged, since 2010, as an innovative proposal to respond to the needs for growth and personal development of children and youth facing situations of social risk in the municipalities of Bluefields, Kukra Hill and Pearl Lagoon. In October 2012, the Program was expanded to Corn Island and Desembocadura de Río Grande, also in the South Caribbean Autonomous Region of Nicaragua. This article summarizes the findings of the final report of the Baseline Study that EFS carried out in 2013, to determine current degrees of social risk among the youth who are taking part of the Program during the 2013-2017 period, and to determine de changes, in each participant, attributable to the impact of its interventions.
