Abstract

This study describes the context and current situation of the labor market for youth in the autonomous regions. It then considers critical conditions, scenarios and proposals for a more effective job placement of these young people, including their own analysis of the opportunities for employment in the municipalities of Bluefields, Corn Island, Desembocadura de Rio Grande, Kukra Hill, and Pearl Lagoon. The text concludes with considerations on inter institutional engagements that are necessary to maximize opportunities to develop the workforce and energize the labor market for youth in Caribbean Nicaraguan.

Roberto Fonseca López

Roberto Fonseca López: Managua (Nicaragua), 1961. Periodista desde 1985. Cubrió la Costa Caribe nicaragüense a finales de los años 80. Ha sido Editor y Jefe de Redacción de los diarios Barricada, La Prensa y El Nuevo Diario, asimismo, de las publicaciones semanales 7 Días y Confidencial. Colaborador y corresponsal de la agencia Inter Press Service (IPS), de las revistas Crónica, Interviú y Proceso. Coautor del libro “El Ojo Maldito”, sobre la destrucción provocada por el Huracán “Joan” a su paso por la RAAS y por Nicaragua. Colaborador de Wani en los años 90. Actualmente es Editor Adjunto de la revista centroamericana Estrategia & Negocios.
