Abstract

Two important studies about the mushrooms in the Nicaraguan Caribbean were conducted in the last decade. The two studies were conducted independently and at different times, together they provide however an important scientific basis that contribute to the understanding of fungal biota of our Caribbean. This article is a summary of both investigation in which a list of the species found in them is presented, a particular attention is paid to some species that are important because they are edible. The article contains photographs of mushrooms that include some of the species mentioned.
