This article is a report of an investigation about the Mesoamerican languages that were spoken in Nicaragua. Besides recording and collecting the sources of information on the Mesoamerican indigenous languages and cultures of Nicaragua (Chorotega, Nicarao and Subtiava), the investigation included visits to Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador to get better acquainted with the research and the linguistic and cultural revitalization efforts existing in these countries; specially those concerning Mesoamerican communities affine to the Nicaraguan ones. Included in the report are also the initiatives of collaboration that resulted from these contacts and some of the ways in which the work initiated could be continued and expanded.
