Abstract

This text that we present in the Documents section of our journal is the draft of a law that the organizations of the indigenous people of the Center, North and Pacific regions of Nicaragua have approved and whose main objectives are: the regulation of the right to self-determination and autonomy for these people and their indigenous communities; the reiteration of their personality and juridical capacity as entities of public law, with a sui generis property regime as well as guaranteeing their forms of government, jurisdiction and competence, subject to the Nicaraguan Political Constitution. In addition we have included a presentation of this law project and a communication with respect to it from this same indigenous people.
