Abstract

In the desembocadura de Rio Grande, natural and traditional medicine are harmoniously integrated with the conventional medicine of the Nicaraguan health system, to solve the needs of the population when they require such service. The compilation of this knowledge of the Ulwa people will, on the one hand, strengthen individual and collective capacities in the areas of natural and traditional medicine of the Ulwa people, and on the other hand, will serve as an instrument of cultural rescue and revitalization, particularly for the promotion of the intangible heritage of the Ulwa people.
