Abstract

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
have transformed Higher Education, especially
in virtual teaching-learning. In this ever-evolving
environment, exploring emerging aspects in the
generation of knowledge in virtual Higher Education is
essential. To address this need, the document analysis
method was used to gather relevant information from
the last five years. The results conclusively highlighted
that the generation of knowledge in doctoral
studies is fundamental for education. In the research
consulted, diverse methodological approaches and
data collection techniques were used, addressing a
wide range of topics related to Higher Education and
ICTs. The conclusions emphasized the importance
of research in the field of education and its practical
applications, providing an insight into the main
challenges and opportunities in digital education. This
study reinforced the idea that knowledge generation
not only enriches the educational experience, but also
guides new studies, policies, and effective practices.
Continuous dedication to research was presented
as an important component to face the changing
challenges and emerging demands of today's society,
ensuring an adaptable education system. Ultimately,
knowledge generation emerges as a process to
improve educational practice and guide policies and
practices in this area.
