Abstract

In this recent study, the different factors that influence
the inclusion process from the socio-educational
system are described for people with disabilities in
the individual, group and institutional environments
within the FAREM-Estelí University campus; In this
sense, the challenges that teachers are facing to
meet the objective of their subjects, facing the special
educational needs of students with disabilities are
raised.
The University Campus has determined different
measures, policies and actions in order to promote
the restitution of rights, promotion and development
of the capacities of students with disabilities from
different areas. As of 2009, the Faculty made changes
such as infrastructural changes with the aim of
improving access to students with motor disabilities,
hiring speech therapists to serve students with
hearing disabilities, sign language courses, among
other actions. The study focuses on the inclusion
and integration of students with disabilities and
the implementation of strategies and actions that
teachers, administrative staff and authorities are
implementing to address the needs presented.
Even with the changes and strategies implemented,
there are large gaps regarding the issue of awareness
and awareness of the university community, which
implies defining strategies to work on the subject. The
faculty must work on the inclusion and integration
of students with disabilities at all educational levels
and with the entire educational community. Work
in the search for new alternatives for continuous
improvement in the face of disability.
