After the municipal elections carried out in 146 districts of the Pacific and Central regions of Nicaragua the 9 of November 2008, an important percentage of the liberal electors and leaders have accused the Supreme Electoral Council (CSE), the governmental party and the leadership of the Constitutionalist Liberal Party (PLC) of colluding to falsify the results in various municipalities. The elections for seven municipalities in the RAAN were programmed for the 18 January of 2009. Through a network of 300 observers, at the request of the political parties of the Caribbean Coast, religious and community leaders and the mayors, the organization IPADE watched these elections in six of the seven municipalities to verify their degree of transparency. Here are presented their results of this monitoring.
