Abstract

Forms of continuity between undergraduate and postgraduate courses are essential to facilitate the transition of students towards more specialized and advanced academic training. Among the main strategies are research components, integrative axes and elective components which allow students to choose courses aligned with their postgraduate interests. Hence, the objective of this article is to identify the elements or forms of continuity of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the 2021 plan of UNAN-Managua. These elements allow undergraduate students to advance in their postgraduate training by deepening the aspects of interest and needs of the country. These forms of continuity not only optimize the learning process, but also allow students to develop the necessary skills to face the challenges of postgraduate studies and improve their professional prospects. The research was developed using a qualitative approach and a unit of analysis was identified: forms of continuity of training from undergraduate to postgraduate. To analyze the data, the technique of transcription and deductive and inductive analysis was used. Also, information triangulation was applied, considering the objective of analysis and research questions. This article presents a description of essential elements on the forms of continuity of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the 2021 plan of UNAN-Managua. Among the relevant aspects of continuity, the integrative axes, professional practices, optional components and research stand out.
